New!  Cause & Effect Photostory

To make the concept of cause & effect come alive, we decided to create a photostory.  First, each student wrote a cause & effect on paper.  Then, we took photographs to illustrate the cause and the effect.  After the photos were put together, each student narrated his/her cause and effect.  Last, the title and credits were added.  The kids absolutely loved seeing and hearing themselves and had a blast making this project!

WRAD Day Fun!

Friday, May 1st was WRAD Day (Writing and Reading All Day).  Our class had Freddy the Falcon drop by, as well as the Cat in the Hat!  We loved wearing our pajamas, bringing our pillows and blankets, and reading all day!  Thank you to all of the other mystery readers who read to us. 

Have fun practicing your spelling words

 

Spelling City is an online spelling practice site.  You can start with Teach Me, then do Play a Game (there are lots of games to choose from), then on Thursday do Test Me.  To use Spelling City, follow these directions:

1.  Go to Spelling City
2.  Find a List (top tab)
3.  Type in Schrantz
4.  Choose the story for the week (by title)

I really think that the kids will LOVE using this site.  You might even get them to do both their spelling contract and this as additional reinforcement.  Please email me with your thoughts about this site.
